baby shower bath fizzie cupcakes
i've shown you the gifts that i made for the baby showers for my sister-in-law; the onesies, crocheted viking helmet, and sewn bib. and now the stuff i did to assist with the actual baby shower (one of them.) the baby room theme is cute jungle animals, so all the paper goods are based on that. first, i created the invites which i made to fit into a legal size envelope and have a vellum cover sheet that attached with an orange corner brad. the vellum cover sheet had leaves printed on them partially obscuring the giraffe into a jungle. all the pieces are based on the giraffe; i love the extra long neck i gave him, although my 5 year old daughter told me the neck was too long for her liking. the paper and the envelopes are a metallic light blue with a really nice shimmer. i love the orange polka dot washi tape that i used to seal all the envelopes too. the thanks cards are a small, simple postcard style with a deep v-cut envelope to match. finally, i wanted to make a fun little party favor that went with the whole theme, and since the weather was cooperating, i made creamsicle scented bath fizzies that look like mini cupcakes and a label that matches the invite and thank yous. the bath fizzies smelled so great and the colors turned out perfectly, which was kind of a happy mistake. i did not intend for the frosting to be that orange actually but it matched the giraffe spots quite nicely.
