monday manicure

we had some holiday plans this weekend, including holiday tea at the ritz so alex and i both wanted festive nails. sally hansen has out some holiday patterns in their salon effects line of nail stickers and i really liked the red and black plaid. alex wanted her nails to be just like mine, so i used one side of the stickers on my nails and the other sides on hers. then i took my white nail pen and drew simple ornaments on each nail - i was going to draw snowflakes but i'm not very good at using my left hand so i had to simplify it down to lines and dots. then i topped off our nails with a clear glitter top coat that has a little bit of irridescent shine to it. they came out nice and sparkly and they have yet to start chipping on day 3, which is unusual for me and especially unusual for alex (who usually starts peeling her nails within 20 minutes of having them done). the other nice thing about these nail stickers is that they are so clean: no spilling and no having to clean up your fingers afterwards.
