Art Desk from Crib

here's another idea sprung from something i saw on pinterest. how genius is this idea to convert an old crib into an art desk? and alex absolutely loves it; she has been using it daily. my husband did all the work, i just showed him a reference photo. oh, and alex helped paint. we measured the desk area twice and bought a piece of nice plywood from the hardware store. they started with a couple coats of base paint that we had left over from painting the family room and then topped it with a couple coats of chalkboard paint. john put the crib back together without the front slats and added the chalkboard desk. i added some hooks for the magnet board and to hold scissors and such and we were done. now we have a place for all alex's art supplies and she has a large workspace for all her creating. she likes to tell me that she's an artist like me, so sweet.
